The Chairman of the NDC Island–City Branch in Kumasi, Solomon Jabari, has officially declared his intention to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), should nominations be opened in 2026.

Mr. Jabari made this declaration on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Ahenema Kokobeng, during the NDC Island–City end-of-year party, an event that brought together party faithful, supporters, and key regional figures to celebrate the year and reflect on the party’s future.

The well-attended event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Baah Acheamfour, the Deputy Youth Organizer and Ashanti Regional National Service Secretariat (NSS) Director, Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, as well as other party executives and stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Solomon Jabari emphasized that the NDC has played a significant role in uplifting its members and supporters, stressing that the next crucial step is for party members to live together as one family and collectively benefit from the opportunities the party offers.

He stated that his decision to contest the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency Chairmanship is driven by a strong desire to restore peace, unity, and direction within the constituency. According to him, the absence of unity has negatively affected the progress and effectiveness of the party in Atwima Kwanwoma.

Reflecting on the 2024 general elections, Mr. Jabari noted that internal divisions among constituency executives weakened the party’s efforts. He believes it is time for a leader who can bridge the gaps, reconcile differences, and unite all factions under a common purpose.

“I want to be the unifier,” he said, adding that shortly after the end-of-year celebrations, he plans to engage all Branch Chairmen and Coordinators across the constituency to better understand their challenges and the true state of the NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma.

He further observed that many NDC members in the constituency feel disconnected from governance, despite the party’s efforts nationally. His vision, he explained, is to foster peace and inclusiveness so that every member feels they are part of the government and the party’s success.

Mr. Jabari also paid special tribute to women in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, acknowledging their tireless efforts during election periods, which he described as even more intense than that of their male counterparts.

He stressed that the time has come to recognize and reward the dedication and sacrifices of women within the party.

In conclusion, Solomon Jabari appealed to party members and supporters in the constituency to remain calm, disciplined, and law-abiding, urging them to respect the rules and regulations of the NDC.
He reminded them that the campaign season has not officially begun and encouraged everyone to wait patiently until nominations are formally opened before engaging in active campaigning.

His message, rooted in unity, peace, and inclusiveness, was met with applause, signaling growing interest in his vision for a stronger and more united NDC Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency.
