Ghanaian singer and producer Kuami Eugene has revealed that his journey into music production began at just 17 years old, in an unlikely place—his mother’s kitchen.
He explained that his mother was instrumental in supporting his dreams, even using her own savings to buy him a computer for music production. “She has been a blessing to my career,” Kuami Eugene said, expressing heartfelt gratitude.
The makeshift studio lacked air conditioning, and his mother frequently checked on him due to the heat in the small space. Despite these challenging conditions, Kuami Eugene continued producing music, laying the groundwork for his future success.
In an interview with UNICEF Ghana, he shared that at 18, he moved out of his mother’s home in Fadama and rented his own apartment after neighbors complained about the noise from his music sessions.
This move marked a turning point in his career. Kuami Eugene later participated in the MTN Hitmaker competition, signed with Lynx Entertainment, and released hits such as Angela, which cemented his place in the Ghanaian music industry.
His story underscores the importance of family support and determination in overcoming obstacles to achieve success in music.
