Eugine Boakye Antwi, former Member of Parliament for Subin and aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to restore the party’s competitiveness, promising reforms and modernization to position the NPP for success in upcoming elections.

Speaking on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, during an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Ghana Se Sen Show, Boakye Antwi emphasized his readiness to lead the party into a new era.

“I am ready to make the NPP very competitive again,” he said, highlighting his commitment to discarding outdated practices and introducing innovative strategies.

Boakye Antwi noted that politics is evolving, and the NPP must adapt to remain relevant. He pointed to the party’s recent setbacks, including a decline in Ashanti Region parliamentary seats and a reduced overall presence in Parliament, as evidence of the urgent need for change.

“Politics is evolving, and I want to lead that evolution. The party needs reorganization, and all those holding positions whose tenure has ended must step aside,” he added.

The former lawmaker described the 2028 elections as a “redemption story” and a chance for the NPP to stage a major comeback both in the Ashanti Region and nationwide. Boakye Antwi emphasized that his experience in almost every party role, aside from General Secretary, equips him to drive discipline, strategy, and competitiveness within the party.

“I have the experience the party can trust. I am ready to lead that charge and ensure the NPP regains its rightful prominence,” he said.
