Gunmen Invade Nalerigu SHS, Kill Two Students in Suspected Bawku-Linked Attack

Two students of Nalerigu Senior High School in the North East Region have been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in a late-night attack on the school’s premises on Saturday, July 26.
Though the full details of the incident remain unclear, local reports suggest the attack may be connected to the long-standing Bawku tribal conflict. Security agencies, however, have yet to confirm any such link.
The deadly shooting has thrown the Nalerigu community and student body into a state of shock and fear, with several students reportedly stranded and fearing for their lives.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Headmaster of Nalerigu SHS, Mr. Mohammed Tibila, confirmed that the tragic deaths occurred on the school compound, further intensifying concerns about student safety and regional security.
The incident adds to the growing wave of violent crimes reported in various parts of the country in recent days.
