The Government of Ghana has strongly condemned a drone attack near Dubai International Airport that left two Ghanaian nationals injured.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, authorities said they had been informed by officials in the United Arab Emirates that the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 11, 2026, in the vicinity of the airport.
The government described the attack as a serious threat to civilian lives and critical infrastructure, warning that such incidents pose significant risks to public safety and international transportation hubs.
“The Government of Ghana strongly condemns any act that endangers civilian lives and critical infrastructure,” the statement said.
According to the ministry, Ghana’s Ambassador to the UAE led a delegation from the country’s embassy in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai to visit the injured nationals at the hospital.
Officials indicated that the victims did not sustain life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover fully.
The government said it is providing the necessary consular assistance while working closely with authorities in the UAE to ensure the wellbeing of the affected citizens.
The ministry also noted that Ghana is participating in ongoing consultations at the United Nations aimed at adopting a resolution that could help bring about a cessation of hostilities.
Ghanaian nationals living and working across the Gulf region have meanwhile been advised to remain vigilant and comply with safety directives issued by Ghana’s diplomatic missions and local authorities.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the welfare and security of Ghanaians abroad while maintaining diplomatic engagement with international partners regarding the incident.
