The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed the arrest of an individual caught forging documents during the ongoing military recruitment exercise at El-Wak Stadium in Accra.

The recruitment, which resumed on Thursday, November 20, 2025, had been temporarily suspended on November 12 following a tragic stampede that claimed six lives. Nearly a thousand candidates have participated in the resumed exercise so far.

Colonel Evelyn Asamoah, Director of Protocol for the GAF, said that security authorities apprehended the suspect and that he will face disciplinary action according to established procedures.

Meanwhile, James Agalga, Chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, who led a monitoring visit to the El-Wak recruitment centre, expressed satisfaction with the way the exercise is being conducted.
