A fire broke out early Monday morning at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, located directly opposite Afrikiko in central Accra.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly and is currently working to contain the blaze. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire began around 1:00 AM and is suspected to have started near the kitchen area of Rockz Waakye, a popular food vendor operating on the premises.

However, authorities have not yet confirmed the origin of the fire.

Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported.

In a separate incident on Sunday, a fire at Madina Ritz Junction destroyed more than 50 wooden structures and metal containers, leaving numerous residents displaced.

That fire reportedly started at a washing bay within the slum area. Firefighters from the Madina Fire Station quickly responded and worked to contain the flames and prevent further damage.
