Newly elected Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has officially been sworn in as a member of the Governing Board of the Ghana Shippers Authority.

Her appointment follows her landmark victory as the second-ever National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate to win the Ablekuma North seat since 1992. She secured the position during a fiercely contested parliamentary rerun held on July 11, 2025.

Ewurabena, a first-time legislator, brings a strong background in grassroots development and social advocacy to the board.

She is the founder of the Awula Foundation, a nonprofit she launched in February 2023 to support underprivileged groups in her constituency.

Her philanthropic work and commitment to community empowerment have earned her widespread respect beyond the political space.

With her addition, the Ghana Shippers Authority is expected to benefit from a deeper connection with local communities and fresh insight into inclusive trade and logistics policy development.
