The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has dismantled a cyber fraud operation in Mataheko-Afienya, rescuing seven Nigerian nationals reportedly trafficked into Ghana for illegal online activities.

The raid, conducted on Friday, November 14, 2025, was part of EOCO’s ongoing Operation LIFELINE. A total of 10 individuals were taken into custody, including three suspects and seven victims, all of Nigerian origin.

The victims, aged between 17 and 30, were allegedly lured to Ghana with false job offers and forced into exploitative conditions to carry out online fraud schemes.

EOCO has urged the public to report suspicious activity through its hotlines and other law enforcement channels. The agency also called on landlords to verify foreign tenants’ backgrounds to prevent their properties from being used for criminal operations.

Reaffirming its commitment to tackling organised crime, EOCO warned that individuals involved in cybercrime would be prosecuted, emphasizing the protection of victims and the prosecution of perpetrators.
