The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has credited Ghana’s recent sporting achievements to deliberate reforms and focused investments in the sector.

Speaking at the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards last Saturday, Adams highlighted the ministry’s strategic measures over the past two years to revamp sports administration—efforts that are now yielding measurable success.

“We made tough decisions, invested deliberately, and Ghana is now reaping the benefits,” he said.

The Buem Constituency MP pointed to notable milestones, including the Black Stars’ qualification for the FIFA World Cup, the revival of the Black Queens, and the University for Development Studies’ historic victory at the Universities World Cup in China.

“Our athletes are excelling across multiple disciplines, and Ghana has firmly established itself as a credible force in African and global sports,” he added.

Adams emphasized that these successes are the result of well-planned policies, rigorous preparation, and disciplined execution—not mere luck. He urged all stakeholders to maintain the momentum and build on the current achievements.

“This performance comes from policy, preparation, and discipline. Success favors persistence, and we must continue to work consistently,” he stressed.
