The management team of late Highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has revealed that the Presidency has assured them of a befitting burial for the celebrated musician.

This comes amid growing public appeals for a state funeral to honour the legendary artiste’s unparalleled contributions to Ghana’s music and creative arts scene.

Daddy Lumba, aged 60, passed away on Saturday, July 26, while receiving treatment at the Bank Hospital in Accra.

Speaking in an interview on Sunday, July 27, the late musician’s manager, Philip Kwabena Agyemang Appiah-Kubi—known in entertainment circles as Roman Fada—confirmed that discussions with the Presidency have been encouraging.

“We have received positive feedback from the Presidency, and I believe President John Dramani Mahama will honour the public’s call for a befitting burial,” he stated.

Preparations for the funeral are currently underway, as fans, fellow artistes, and industry leaders continue to mourn the loss of one of Ghana’s most enduring and beloved musical talents.
