Family Land Dispute Turns Violent in Berekum Cashew Farm Case

The Berekum Circuit Court has remanded Emmanuel Yeboah into police custody over charges of attempted murder and causing harm following a violent family dispute over a cashew farm.
The initial hearing was presided over by His Honour Mr. Osei Kofi Amoako Esq.
According to the Bono Regional Police Command, Yeboah was arrested on January 3, 2026, after police received a report of an ambush linked to a long-standing disagreement over ownership of a cashew farm. The suspect is alleged to have attacked his brother and sister-in-law with a cutlass while they were on their way to the disputed property, inflicting multiple injuries on both victims.
Police recovered the cutlass allegedly used in the attack from the scene and retained it as evidence. The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at a local health facility.
Emmanuel Yeboah is expected to reappear before the Berekum Circuit Court on January 12, 2026, as investigations continue.
