Bournemouth have officially secured the signing of Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea for a reported fee of £25 million.
The 25-year-old, who initially joined Chelsea from MLS side New England Revolution in 2023 for £14 million, spent last season on loan at French club Strasbourg. There, he impressed by winning the club’s Player of the Season award and helping them qualify for the Europa Conference League with a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1.
Petrovic becomes Bournemouth’s third signing of the summer window and has penned a five-year contract with the club.
“I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and play at the highest level,” Petrovic said. “With the support of this club and its facilities, I believe we can achieve great things. I want to contribute to the team’s success, improve every day, and become a better player.”
Petrovic has earned seven international caps for Serbia since 2021 and made 23 Premier League appearances during his time with Chelsea.
He is expected to take over as Bournemouth’s first-choice keeper, following the departure of Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spaniard, who was on loan at the Vitality Stadium last season, returned to Chelsea before sealing a £5m move to Arsenal earlier this month.
