Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola heaped praise on Antoine Semenyo following the Ghanaian forward’s dramatic late winner in Wednesday night’s 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The goal could mark Semenyo’s final appearance for the Cherries, as he is reportedly close to completing a move to Premier League champions Manchester City in the coming days, following an agreement between the two clubs.

Semenyo received a standing ovation from Bournemouth fans after scoring the decisive goal, and Iraola had nothing but positive words for the striker.

“I think he has earned all this. I am very happy for him because we know he is a top player but especially a top person,” Iraola said after the match.

“We pushed a lot to keep him until the last second here, and I think it is fair that he leaves with the feeling he has had at the end, with the substitution and the reception from the supporters.”

Semenyo’s goal against Tottenham was his 10th in the Premier League this season and the 30th in his top-flight career since joining Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
