  • Small efforts by branch executives can “bury the NPP forever”

The Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Baah Acheamfour, has declared that the Ashanti Region remains the decisive battleground capable of permanently ending the electoral dominance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), if the NDC builds strategically on its 2024 performance.

Speaking at the NDC Island City Branch end-of-year party in Kumasi, Baah Acheamfour expressed profound appreciation to Solomon Jabari, Chairman of the Island City Branch, for his immense contribution to the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections.

He praised Jabari’s commitment and grassroots leadership, urging him to remain steadfast and continue working for the growth of the party.

“I thank Solomon Jabari for the hard work he did to help bring the NDC back to power. He should continue on this path,” he stated.

Baah Acheamfour further called on members of the Island City Branch to rally behind Solomon Jabari in all his pursuits and leadership aspirations, stressing that unity and support at the grassroots level are critical for sustaining the party’s momentum.

Ashanti Region as the Game Changer

According to the Deputy Regional Secretary, the Ashanti Region is the only region capable of decisively burying the NPP if the NDC intensifies its efforts.

He explained that the party’s 33% vote share in the 2024 elections in the region represents a solid foundation.

“If we work hard and add just 2% to the 33% we secured in 2024, the NPP can never win an election again before the world comes to an end,” he declared to loud applause.

Baah Acheamfour emphasized that while President John Dramani Mahama is diligently delivering on his mandate at the national level, the remaining responsibility lies with branch executives and party members to mobilize, expand the party’s base, and attract new supporters.

“The President is doing his part. What is left is small work for us at the branches—bring more people into the party, and if we do that, the NPP will be buried forever,” he stressed.

Call for Grassroots Action

He concluded by urging party faithful to remain active, united, and focused, noting that the strength of the NDC lies in its grassroots machinery, particularly in politically strategic regions like Ashanti.
