  • Husband Angel Asiamah expresses joy, calling himself “the happiest man on earth” after the ruling

Angel Asiamah, husband of former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has expressed immense relief after the Amasaman High Court reduced his wife’s prison sentence.

Speaking to journalists at the court forecourt following the ruling, Mr. Asiamah described the decision as a major relief. “I am the happiest man on earth,” he said in Twi.

The court cut Nana Agradaa’s sentence from 15 years of hard labor to 12 calendar months, ruling that the original sentence was harsh and excessive. While her conviction was upheld, the appellate court exercised discretion to moderate the punishment.

The revised sentence is retroactive to her conviction date on July 3, 2025, meaning she will now serve a total of 12 months in prison.

The court noted that although her offence warranted punishment, the original sentence’s severity was disproportionate under the circumstances, justifying the reduction.

Nana Agradaa, who has remained a controversial public figure since her transition from traditional priesthood to evangelism, was convicted earlier this year in a case that sparked widespread public debate and legal scrutiny.

With the High Court’s ruling, her conviction remains intact, but the custodial term has been significantly reduced, bringing relief to her family and supporters.
