Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has praised the Presidential Election Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its transparent and efficient handling of preparations for the party’s upcoming primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31.

In a statement issued on Friday, January 9, following a briefing by the Committee, Akufo-Addo expressed satisfaction with the progress made in planning and executing the internal electoral process.

He commended the Committee for its clarity, openness, and strict adherence to democratic principles, noting that their approach has strengthened confidence in the credibility of the exercise.

“The Committee’s work, thus far, has been nothing short of impressive. Key milestones achieved on the principles of zero-tolerance for opacity have ensured transparency and guarded religiously the sanctity of the process,” Akufo-Addo said.

The Committee, chaired by former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joseph Osei-Owusu, has been credited with promoting fairness, inclusiveness, and compliance with party regulations, reflecting the NPP’s commitment to internal democracy and accountability.

Party insiders believe that Akufo-Addo’s endorsement will further boost confidence among delegates, aspirants, and the public in the integrity of the process as the party prepares to elect its flagbearer for the next general election.
