Agogo Assembly Member Found Dead in Suspected Suicide

A first-term Assembly Member for the Agogo Apentenyinase Electoral Area in the Asante Akyem North Municipality, Kwabena Osei, has died in an apparent suicide.
The 30-something politician was found hanging from the ceiling of his home at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7.
Confirming the incident to Citi News on Thursday, January 8, the Presiding Member of the Asante Akyem North Municipality, Frank Gyamfi, described Kwabena Osei as a young and promising leader. He revealed that he had spoken with Osei about personal matters on Sunday prior to the tragic discovery.
“I received news from colleagues that Kwabena Osei is no more. I was shocked because I had spoken with him just a few days ago. Reports suggest it was suicide, but whether it was self-inflicted or otherwise, we cannot confirm. The police are investigating,” Mr. Gyamfi said.
The body has been deposited at the Agogo Mortuary, and authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
