Election 2024: Mahama Demands Fair Play Before Accepting Results
NDC flagbearer insists on transparency and credibility, vows to reject any results marred by violence or irregularities
- Mahama will only accept results if the process is transparent and credible
- He condemns violence, ballot snatching, and voter intimidation
- Calls for free and fair elections to safeguard Ghana's democracy
John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared he will only accept the results of Ghana’s December 7 General Election if the process is transparent and credible.
In a BBC interview, Mahama voiced concerns about potential irregularities, including violence, ballot snatching, and voter intimidation. He emphasized the need for a free and fair election to uphold the integrity of the country’s democracy.
“If there is widespread ballot snatching, violence, and military intimidation, do you expect me to accept that result? Transparency and fairness are non-negotiable,” Mahama stressed.
