The family of 30-year-old Bismark Amoh has appealed for help after his alleged kidnappers demanded more money despite receiving an initial GH¢19,500 payment.

A family in Assin Fosu in the Fosu Municipality of the Central Region is racing against time to secure the release of 30-year-old Bismark Amoh, who was allegedly abducted and subjected to severe abuse by his captors.
Mr Amoh was reportedly kidnapped on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and had spent more than 48 hours in captivity as his abductors repeatedly threatened to kill him unless a ransom was paid.
According to information gathered, the kidnappers initially demanded GH¢45,000 and gave the family 24 hours to raise the money.
The situation took a more disturbing turn after the abductors sent audio and video recordings of the victim to his relatives via WhatsApp.
In the recordings, Mr Amoh is heard pleading for his life and appealing to his family to urgently raise the demanded ransom.
The footage reportedly showed him restrained and being subjected to physical assault by his captors.
The incident has heightened fears for his safety, with the family now making desperate efforts to secure his release.
Family raises GH¢19,500
Investigations indicate that the kidnappers were using Mr Amoh’s mobile phone to communicate with his relatives through WhatsApp, apparently in an attempt to conceal their identities and avoid leaving digital traces that could assist investigators.
Desperate to save their relative, the family reportedly reached out to friends, relatives and other well-wishers for financial assistance.
They managed to raise GH¢19,500, which was subsequently sent to the kidnappers in the hope that the payment would lead to Mr Amoh’s immediate release.
However, the payment did not secure his freedom.
Instead, one of the alleged kidnappers reportedly demanded an additional GH¢30,500, bringing the total amount being sought to GH¢50,000.
Alleged fraud accusation
A woman’s voice could reportedly be heard in the background of one of the recordings, accusing Mr Amoh of allegedly defrauding people connected to his detention.
The accusation was cited as the reason for his alleged arrest, subsequent mistreatment and the demand for additional money.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged kidnapping, the identities of the perpetrators and the accusations against Mr Amoh remain unclear.
The family continues to seek assistance as concerns grow over his safety and possible further demands from the kidnappers.
