The National Teaching Council (NTC) has dismissed reports claiming that it has increased the registration fee for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

The Council has clarified that the total fee remains GH¢500, comprising GH¢450 for registration and GH¢50 for indexing.

According to the NTC, the fee has remained unchanged since 2023.

The clarification follows the circulation of social media reports suggesting that prospective GTLE candidates would have to pay a higher amount to register for the examination.

In a disclaimer issued by its Public Affairs Unit, the NTC said it had taken notice of a publication falsely claiming that the examination fee had been increased.

The Council stated that the GTLE fee remains GH¢500, made up of GH¢450 for registration and GH¢50 for indexing, stressing that “there has been no increment.”

The NTC has therefore urged the public, particularly prospective candidates, to disregard any information suggesting that the GTLE registration fee has been increased.

The Council advised candidates to rely on official NTC communication for accurate information regarding the examination and registration process.
