- Unity: COKA says early campaigns create tension.
- Chairmen: Urged to call premature campaigners to order.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, has cautioned party members with parliamentary ambitions against prematurely campaigning as “Incoming MPs.”
Speaking during a meeting with constituency chairmen, Odeneho warned aspirants against using the title while a sitting Member of Parliament still has two or three years remaining in office.

According to the Regional Chairman, the practice is disrespectful and creates unnecessary tension within the party.
“It makes the sitting MP uncomfortable and unable to concentrate on the work they were elected to do for the people.”
He said party members should not begin campaigning against their colleagues while they are still serving the electorate.
“You cannot start campaigning against your own brother while he is still working. That is not the NPP way.”
Odeneho therefore urged constituency chairmen to monitor the situation closely and call aspirants who engage in premature campaigning to order.
He stressed the need for unity and discipline within the party as the NPP works to strengthen its structures ahead of future elections.
