One person has died and several others sustained injuries in a road crash at Juaso on the Kumasi-Accra Highway in the Ashanti Region.

The accident occurred on Friday, August 14, 2026, at a section of the highway popularly known as Otuo Srebour at Juaso.

The crash involved a Sprinter bus with registration number AD 8272-26, which was travelling from Accra to Kumasi with passengers on board, and a long vehicle travelling in the opposite direction from Kumasi to Accra.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a male passenger on the Sprinter bus died in the crash, while several other passengers sustained injuries.

The deceased’s body has been conveyed to the Yawkwei Steward Mortuary for preservation and further procedures.

The injured victims were assisted following the crash, while investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
