A 53-year-old farmer, identified as Dogbe Dodzi, has been arrested following the alleged killing of his 43-year-old wife, Lynda, at Asikumah-Enyikpodzi on Tuesday night, August 12, 2026.

According to residents, the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. after the couple returned home from an evening church service.

Residents said the couple had dinner before retiring to their room, where the alleged incident occurred. The couple reportedly had no children together.

Residents further alleged that the suspect had a history of mental health challenges and had previously received treatment.

Police arrested Dodzi shortly after the incident and have since commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

Officers from the Asikumah Police have conveyed the body to Accra for preservation and autopsy as part of the investigation.

The incident has left residents of Asikumah-Enyikpodzi shocked, with community members calling for increased mental health support and early intervention services.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
