Chelsea Set Friday Deadline for £120m Enzo Fernandez Offers

Chelsea demand at least £120 million for Enzo Fernandez as Manchester City remain a potential suitor following Real Madrid’s reported withdrawal.

Story Highlights
  • Chelsea have set Friday as the deadline for bids of £120 million or more.
  • Real Madrid have reportedly ruled out a move for the Argentina midfielder.
  • Manchester City are among the clubs linked with Fernandez but may face competition from other transfer targets.

The 25-year-old Argentina international has faced uncertainty over his future at Stamford Bridge since March, when he raised the possibility of leaving the club amid interest from Real Madrid.

Fernandez’s agent, Javier Pastore, also publicly suggested that the midfielder was underpaid and wanted a move after a difficult campaign for Chelsea. The London club finished 10th in the Premier League and ended the season without a trophy after losing the FA Cup final to Manchester City.

Fernandez has since continued to train with Chelsea and was involved in full training under new manager Xabi Alonso for the first time on Wednesday.

Real Madrid have reportedly ruled out a move for the midfielder, stating that they have no intention of signing him.

That leaves Manchester City as the only known potential suitor. City are managed by former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who left Stamford Bridge midway through last season.

However, it remains uncertain whether City would be prepared to meet Chelsea’s £120 million valuation, particularly with the club also monitoring Lille midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi.

Chelsea’s Friday deadline could therefore determine whether Fernandez remains at Stamford Bridge or becomes the subject of a major transfer bid.
