The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the killing of a 54-year-old man and the shooting of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.

The suspects, identified as Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, were arrested with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) following the incident on August 6, 2026.

The victims, identified as 54-year-old car dealer Mohammed Rahman and his 53-year-old wife, Christiana Fosu, were found outside their four-bedroom apartment with gunshot wounds.

They were rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Mohammed Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was subsequently referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and remains on admission, responding to treatment.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.

According to the police, Adams Adder Almeida admitted during interrogation to shooting the couple. He reportedly told investigators that he was motivated by his belief that Rahman had repeatedly referred to him as “lazy and useless”, which he claimed had negatively affected him mentally.

The suspect subsequently led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where police recovered a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting from beneath a well drop.

Police investigations have established that Adams Adder Almeida and Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased, live together in the same room at Tuba.

Adams further told investigators that the pistol had allegedly been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon. He later led police to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but the suspect was not found.

The police said efforts are underway to locate Gideon, while Bala Bilyon remains in custody and is assisting with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
