Salah Receives Hero’s Welcome Ahead of Trabzonspor Transfer
Mohamed Salah Welcomed as New Signer by Trabzonspor Fans in Turkey
- Salah received a hero’s welcome from hundreds of fans at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport upon arrival.
- The Egyptian captain, 34, is set to join Trabzonspor after leaving Liverpool last season.
- Salah’s move marks a significant addition to Trabzonspor’s squad as they aim for European competitions next season.
Hundreds of fans gathered outside Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on Wednesday to welcome Mohamed Salah, who appeared in Trabzonspor colors and engaged with the excited supporters.
The Egyptian captain, 34, left Liverpool at the end of last season after a nine-year stint that saw him score 257 goals.

While the details of Salah’s contract with Trabzonspor have not been officially disclosed, his status as a free agent likely allowed the Turkish club to allocate a significant portion of their budget toward his wages.
Salah, who has netted 50 goals in the Champions League, will bring European experience to Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Süper Lig last season, eight points behind champions Galatasaray.
If Trabzonspor fails to qualify directly for the Champions League group stage via the playoffs, they will enter the Europa League qualifiers. Failure to advance there would see them drop into the Conference League.
Salah previously became Liverpool’s highest-paid player in April 2025 with a reported weekly salary of £400,000, making his move to Trabzonspor a notable transfer in his illustrious career.
