- MFK and Lawson Afisem team raise over GH¢201,000 in under one hour
- Funds exceed target for 3-year-old Nana Yaw’s heart surgery
- Mother breaks down in tears as life-saving support is secured
An emotional scene unfolded on the Lawson Afisem Show when a young mother rolled on the ground in tears of joy after the host, Maame Frimpomaa Korankye (MFK), and her team successfully raised GH¢211,000 in less than an hour to fund life-saving heart surgery for her 3-year-old son, Nana Yaw.
The little boy, who has been battling a hole in his heart since he was one year old, urgently required surgery estimated at GH¢103,000.

Although the child’s father had already contributed GH¢20,000 towards the procedure, the amount was still far below what was needed, leaving the family struggling to raise the remaining funds.
However, during the live programme today, June 2, 2026, on Lawson TV/Radio, the Lawson Afisem team, led by MFK, mobilised support from viewers and listeners and raised a total of GH¢211,000 within less than one hour—surpassing the required amount.
When the final figure was announced on air, the child’s mother could not contain her emotions and collapsed to the ground in tears as gratitude and relief swept through the studio.
Nana Yaw, who has been receiving treatment, is currently admitted at the Hope Exchange Hospital awaiting further medical care and surgery preparations.
