Senegalese-American music star Akon has stirred conversation after saying his life was more manageable when he was involved with multiple women.

The 53-year-old made the comments during an interview on The Shade Room, where he reflected on his past relationships and openly shared his views on love and polygamy.

According to him, being in a single relationship has proven more challenging compared to his previous lifestyle.

“My life was a lot easier when I had multiple women surrounding me. It is a lot harder with just one woman,” he said.

Akon, who has previously expressed support for polygamous relationships, suggested that managing one relationship requires more emotional effort than juggling several.

His remarks come about six months after his wife of 28 years, Tomeka Thiam, reportedly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

The statement has since sparked wide reactions online, adding to ongoing debates about relationships, commitment, and modern marriage dynamics.
