Two people are feared dead following a helicopter crash at the Oninku Drive School Park in Tema Community One, near the city’s central business district.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service are currently on site, working to retrieve the charred bodies from the wreckage.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the helicopter involved in the crash was severely damaged and mangled, requiring firefighters to conduct extrication operations to rescue the occupants.

In an official statement, the Service confirmed that two males on board tragically lost their lives.

“Their bodies have been recovered and handed over to the Police for further investigation.”

Regional commanders from both the Fire Service and the Police in Tema are currently on site managing the situation.

Meanwhile in an interview with Mr. Ahmed Abdullia, Assemblyman for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area, confirmed that no students were injured in the incident.
