The Nkawie Divisional Police have arrested four men who allegedly posed as National Security operatives to carry out illegal anti-galamsey activities and extort money from mining sites in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality.

According to the police, the suspects targeted mining operators, claiming to conduct official anti-galamsey operations while demanding payments under false pretenses.

The men reportedly used the guise of security authority to intimidate miners and collect money illegally.

The Divisional Police Command has assured the public that the suspects are in custody and that investigations are ongoing.

Authorities have warned the public to remain vigilant and report any individuals claiming to act as security officials without proper authorization.
