Amina Adams Takes Early Lead in Ayawaso East NDC Contest – Poll Shows Baba Jamal Trailing

A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics suggests that Hajia Amina Adams is currently the frontrunner in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary for Ayawaso East ahead of the March 2026 by-election.

According to the poll, 58% of respondents have declared support for Hajia Amina Adams, placing her comfortably ahead of Baba Jamal, who garnered 32%. The remaining contenders—Muhammed Ramne, Dr. Yakubu Azindow, and Najib Muhammed Sani—secured 5%, 3%, and 2% respectively.

All five aspirants successfully passed the party’s vetting stage in late January at the NDC Greater Accra Regional Office. The party is scheduled to hold its Ayawaso East parliamentary primary on Saturday, February 7, to select a candidate for the upcoming March by-election.

Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, noted that the findings reflect the current mood of voters in the constituency and offer an indication of how the primary race may unfold.
