IGP Yohuno reshuffles senior command of Ghana Police Service
Senior police officers reassigned in leadership shake-up to improve operational efficiency

- IGP Yohuno announces major reshuffle within the Ghana Police Service.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has carried out a major reshuffle within the senior command of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) as part of efforts to strengthen leadership and improve operational efficiency.
An official posting released by the Police Administration announced the immediate reassignment of several Commissioners of Police (COPs) and Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCOPs) to new roles across the Service.
Under the new arrangements, COP Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba has been moved from Director-General of Technology to Director-General of the National Administration and Personnel Directorate (NAPD). COP Iddi Lansah Seidu, formerly Director-General of Welfare, has been reassigned as Director-General of Technology.
In another change, COP Dr Vance Baba Gariba has moved from Director-General of Operations to Director-General of Research and Planning, while COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe has been appointed Director-General of Operations, transitioning from the Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB).
Further adjustments include DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey, who has been reassigned from Research and Planning to head the Professional Standards Bureau, and DCOP Eric Ken Winful, who has moved from NAPD to become Director-General of Welfare.
The reshuffle also affected regional and technical commands. DCOP Charles K. Adu has been appointed Regional Commander of the Eastern Sector, while DCOP Isaac Asante has been transferred from the Eastern Region to the National Headquarters.
Meanwhile, DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi has assumed duties as Regional Commander of the Central Region, with DCOP George Ankomah moving from Central MTTD/AR to take over as Regional Commander of the Eastern North Region.
In another posting, DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo, formerly Director of ICT at the National Headquarters, has been appointed to head Central MTTD/AR.
According to the IGP, the postings form part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening leadership capacity, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving service delivery across the Ghana Police Service.
