The Assembly Member for Wurapong Electoral Area in the Nwabigya North Constituency, Hon. Kofi Bright, has appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to provide additional teachers for the Wurapong Basic and JHS School.

Hon. Bright made the appeal after touring the school and observing the challenges firsthand. In a self-recorded video, he expressed concern that some students from Wurapong JHS have had to transfer to Wurapong Islamic School due to the shortage of teachers.

According to the Assembly Member, the school currently has only two teachers responsible for teaching students from kindergarten through junior high school. The video also highlighted classrooms with broken desks and damaged windows, reflecting poor infrastructure.

Hon. Bright further noted that while the Islamic Primary School has a mosque and other facilities, it too suffers from a shortage of teachers.

He urged the Ghana Education Service to intervene and provide the school with sufficient teaching staff to ensure students receive quality education.
