A massive fire has ravaged hundreds of shops and mechanic workshops at Sofoline Magazine in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, causing extensive destruction to property.
The blaze reportedly broke out around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, rapidly engulfing several structures, including mechanic workshops and vehicles undergoing repairs. Large quantities of spare parts, tools, equipment, and other goods were completely destroyed.
Eyewitnesses estimate that more than 100 vehicles were consumed by the inferno, leaving many mechanics and car owners devastated.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service were swiftly deployed to the scene and managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
No casualties were recorded; however, the incident has left scores of shop owners and mechanics counting their losses.
Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
