EC Ready for NPP Presidential Primary on January 31
Electoral Commission assures stakeholders of smooth, transparent conduct of NPP primary

- EC says all logistical and administrative preparations for January 31 primary are complete
- Printing of ballot papers done under strict supervision with aspirants’ representatives present
- Election materials to be distributed nationwide starting Tuesday, January 27
The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it is fully prepared to conduct the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31.
The Commission has assured political stakeholders and the general public that all logistical and administrative arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible electoral process.
The EC’s Deputy Director of Research, Fred Tetteh, disclosed that the distribution of election materials to various voting centres will begin on Tuesday, January 27.
He explained that critical preparatory activities, including the printing of ballot papers, have been completed under strict supervision and in the presence of representatives of the presidential aspirants.
“Preparations are far advanced. The printing of ballot papers, which was done in the presence of aspirants’ representatives, has been completed,” Mr. Tetteh said.
Mr. Tetteh further noted that the Commission has taken full custody of the printed ballot papers and has also received the voter album for delegates.
“The EC has taken full custody of the ballot papers from the printing house. We have also received the voter album of the delegates, and by Tuesday at the latest, all materials will be dispatched to the 16 regional capitals for onward transmission to the constituency centres,” he added.
