The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has issued a stirring call for a return to principled leadership.

He urged the NPP party delegates to prioritize national transformation over personal gain.

Addressing NPP delegates of the Sunyani East and West constituencies last Thursday, the former NPP General Secretary and Press Secretary to President JA Kufuor, emphasized that his bid for the flagbearer position is rooted in a philosophy of “service to mankind as service to God”.

Asserting that his extensive experience in high-level governance has left him seeking legacy rather than wealth, Ing. Agyepong pointedly addressed the issue of political corruption, delivering a firm promise that his leadership would be defined by integrity.

“We go to the government to serve, not for personal wealth”he declared, while cautioning delegates against the influence of short-term financial inducements.

He argued against the monetization of politics stating that small monetary handouts do nothing to uplift the livelihood of delegates. Instead, he urged them to consider the “unborn generations” and the future of the NPP tradition when casting their ballots on January 31.

The flagbearer hopeful lamented that Ghana has “lost its way”, citing a lack of enforcement of rules and regulations, unbridled politicization of State Institutions and waste of public resources as major hurdles militating against our progress.
Ing Agyepong positioned himself as the disciplined leader required to impose the necessary rigors of statecraft to ensure that the “things are done right”.

Looking ahead, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong announced that he will shortly address the country in an event where he intends to unveil a six-point plan aimed at steering the nation back on a trajectory of comprehensive national transformation.
