Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, has delivered a deeply emotional and defiant tribute to her late husband, highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba), declaring that no malice, falsehood or cruelty can erase the love they shared.
Her tribute, read on her behalf during Daddy Lumba’s final funeral rites at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, December 13, spoke of dignity, honour and unwavering affection—cutting through months of controversy surrounding the late musician’s personal life.
Describing Daddy Lumba as her “king” and “protector,” Odo Broni called on truth and love to stand as their ultimate defence against accusations and bitterness.
“My king, my protector, if your spirit still walks among us, then let the truth itself rise as our vengeance. Let the love we share be the fire that consumes falsehood,” she said.
She insisted that the respect and peace her husband gave her remain living testimony against every harsh narrative.
“Let the dignity with which you held me, the honour with which you lifted me, and the peace you gave me stand as testimony against every cruel tongue.”
In one of the most powerful moments of the tribute, Odo Broni firmly rejected attempts to diminish their relationship.
“I will not bow to their malice; I will not let their venom stain the memory of what we were. You treated me like a queen, you gave me a family, you gave me joy. That truth is eternal, and it will outlive every lie.”
Acknowledging her loss, she maintained that no attack could erase the bond they shared.
“Though they seek to wound me, they cannot erase the truth that I was your joy, your peace, your chosen resting place. My husband, my king, though you are gone from this earth, you remain in my heart.”
Addressing mourners, Odo Broni concluded with a message of resilience, love and spiritual continuity.
“Though I walk alone now, I will walk with the memory of your love, which no lie, no attack, no cruelty can ever erase. Let them speak, let them try, for the lion king still reigns in spirit, and his roar will forever protect the love we shared.”
Her words drew a poignant close to a funeral already heavy with emotion—offering not just grief, but a powerful assertion of love, dignity and truth in the final chapter of Daddy Lumba’s extraordinary life.
