Lawson Afisem, led by Maame Frimpomaa Korankye known as MFK and her team, has brought relief and smiles to new mothers at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

As part of their first anniversary celebration, the team settled the medical bills of seven women who had given birth but were unable to afford payment.

MFK in an interview highlighted the heavy burdens many mothers face, stressing that being unable to pay bills after delivery worsens an already challenging experience.

“Delivering and not having money to be discharged makes the situation even more difficult,” she noted.

Joana Adomah Afrifa, a social worker at KATH, expressed deep appreciation to Lawson Afisem for the compassionate gesture and urged the public to extend similar support to struggling mothers.

The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with relief, also conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the timely assistance.
