In a bold and inspiring address during the 41st National Farmers Day celebration in Bosomtwe, District Chief Executive, Hon. Ing. Abdullah Hamidu, assured farmers that the coming year will bring greater opportunities and support for the agricultural sector in the district.
Addressing a large gathering of farmers, community leaders, and residents, Ing. Hamidu praised the hardworking men and women whose dedication sustains the nation’s food security.
“The President has asked me to convey a special message: next year, farmers in Bosomtwe will witness even greater things. Government is setting up new funds and initiatives to empower you and expand agricultural opportunities,” he announced.
Highlighting his administration’s ongoing projects, Ing. Hamidu drew attention to the Nkoko Nketenkete poultry initiative, urging residents to support locally produced chicken.

He also committed to improving market infrastructure, promising the opening of the new Aputuogya market next year, which will provide traders with a modern and organized space.
“Jachie, Esereso, Feyiase—all these communities remain top priorities. Our goal is to ensure farmers and traders have the facilities they deserve to thrive,” he added.
Ing. Hamidu also spoke on broader development projects, including the planned Accra–Kumasi Expressway, which will pass through Bosomtwe, and the completion of the Sewua Regional Hospital, which is set to be fully operational soon.

Despite being a member of the NDC, Hamidu emphasized service beyond politics, assuring constituents that his administration works for all residents, regardless of political affiliation.
“Bosomtwe is lagging behind, but with unity, we will lift this district. Together with Assembly members, we are working to ensure that Bosomtwe is elevated to a Municipal Assembly in the next reclassification,” he said.
Farmers and residents left the event motivated and hopeful, confident that Ing. Hamidu’s vision and commitment will bring real change, growth, and recognition to agriculture in Bosomtwe.
