PICTURES: Lawson Media Xmas Inter-Community Gala Draw Held, Rivalries Ignite Ahead of Tournament

The stage is set for the debut edition of the Lawson Media Inter-Community Gala, as the draw for the tournament fixtures was completed on Thursday, December 4, 2025, during an afternoon sports segment with King Eben on Lawson Media.

The draw revealed an action-packed knockout phase featuring 24 communities, with Suame taking on Bonwire in the opening match, followed by Bantama vs Atonsu, Nkwanta Kese vs Asokwa, and North Suntreso vs Patasi as the next key fixtures. The full knockout lineup also includes Abrepo Junction vs Moshie Zongo, Pakyi vs Hilltop, Ejisu vs Kantikyiren, Adiebeba vs Manhyia, Tech vs Kwadaso, Adankwame vs Abuakwa, Asawase vs Tanoso, and Atasemanso vs Atwima Techiman in the final match of the first round.

After the draw, representatives of the participating communities confidently boasted about their chances, some even claiming victory before a ball was kicked. “We’ve already won the gala,” one rep proclaimed, while others exchanged friendly taunts, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive tournament. But, as King Eben emphasized, “it will be the field of play that decides the true champions.”

The inaugural gala is scheduled to take place from 18th to 24th December 2025 at the Cocoa Ase Astro Turf in Bantama, Kumasi, with a total prize package of GHS 100,000. The prize breakdown is as follows:

• 1st Place (Champion): GHS 40,000

• 2nd Place: GHS 30,000

• 3rd Place: GHS 20,000

• 4th Place: GHS 10,000

The tournament will feature 32 matches, with each of the 24 teams receiving jersey sets.
