Ghanaian travellers now have a direct air link to the United States, as Delta Air Lines resumed non-stop flights from Accra to Atlanta on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The announcement was made by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, describing the move as a significant convenience for passengers.

“I am excited about the reintroduction of Delta Air Lines’ non-stop flight from Accra to Atlanta, which commenced operations yesterday,” Minister Ablakwa said, calling the development a major boost for travel between the two countries.

The Minister also praised Air Transat of Canada for launching a historic non-stop service from Accra to Canada, scheduled to begin on June 17, 2026.

“These refreshing developments will accelerate our economic diplomacy objectives, boost trade and tourism, and offer value and convenience, particularly to Ghanaian travellers,” he added.

The reintroduction of non-stop flights is expected to strengthen bilateral relations, facilitate business engagements, and enhance tourism between Ghana, the United States, and Canada.
