A 28-year-old man, identified as Yaw Asamoah, has been found dead in a disturbing incident at Abrense near Atobease in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

The tragedy reportedly unfolded on Monday, November 3, 2025, after Asamoah allegedly lost GHC1,000 during a visit to a commercial sex worker. Attempts to retrieve the missing money are said to have triggered a heated confrontation, which ended under mysterious and fatal circumstances.

His lifeless body was later discovered in an abandoned mining pit, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Confirming the incident, Samuel Yeboah, the Assembly Member for the Atobease Electoral Area, revealed that two individuals, including the sex worker, have been arrested to assist with ongoing police investigations.

“We just called the police to take the caretaker and the sex worker. Investigations are ongoing,” he told Citi News.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy as authorities continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death.
