The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has once again demonstrated his enduring commitment to education with the completion and official handover of a 600-bed capacity girls’ dormitory to his alma mater, Sefwi Wiawso Senior High School in the Western North Region.
Constructed through the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, the three-storey facility boasts ten spacious dormitory rooms per floor, each equipped with lavatories and open washrooms. The modern structure also includes a hall/common room, washing and ironing area, store room, infirmary, and a two-bedroom apartment for the house mistress — providing both comfort and safety for students and staff.
The project was executed by Attachy Construction Limited, with Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) serving as the consulting firm.
Representing the Asantehene, Nana Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II, Hiahene and Chairman of the Foundation’s Board, officially handed over the keys to local traditional leaders, who in turn presented them to the school’s authorities.
This noble gesture forms part of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s broader educational vision — to ensure equal access to quality education and to promote a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for Ghanaian students, especially young girls.
