The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, officially informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of her death during a visit to Manhyia Palace on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Nana Konadu passed away on October 23, 2025, at Ridge Hospital in Accra. A one-week commemoration in her honor was held on October 30, attended by family, friends, and dignitaries.

During the meeting, the Asantehene extended heartfelt condolences to the Rawlings family and pledged his full support in organizing her funeral. He also lauded Nana Konadu for her distinguished service to the nation and her lifelong advocacy for women’s empowerment.

Widely respected as the wife of the late President Jerry John Rawlings and founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement, Nana Konadu is remembered for her steadfast dedication to social justice, leadership, and Ghana’s development.
