Nkawkaw-based rapper Phada Gaza has died following a violent confrontation with a rival that turned deadly on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
According to reports, the altercation stemmed from a territorial dispute between the two men and quickly escalated into a knife fight, leaving both with serious injuries.
Phada Gaza was rushed to the Holy Family Catholic Hospital in Nkawkaw but was pronounced dead on arrival. His rival, who sustained critical injuries, was stabilized and later transferred to the Police Hospital in Accra for specialized treatment.
The Municipal Director of Health for Kwahu West, Celestina Asante, confirmed the incident to JoyNews, noting that the deceased suffered multiple stab wounds consistent with a knife or cutlass attack.
“Two young men were involved in a scuffle that resulted in both stabbing each other. Unfortunately, one was pronounced dead on arrival with wounds around the armpit, ribs, and lower abdomen,” she explained.
Following news of the rapper’s death, tensions flared at the hospital as groups of youth gathered, demanding that the injured suspect be handed over to them.
Authorities have since deposited Phada Gaza’s body at the Nkawkaw Holy Family morgue, while the Ghana Police Service has yet to issue an official statement or confirm any arrests in connection with the incident.
