Ghana Armed Forces Extends Recruitment Deadline to November 7 Amid Portal Glitches

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has extended its ongoing recruitment deadline by one week following technical challenges encountered on its online application portal.

In a statement issued on October 31, 2025, and signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the GAF announced that the new deadline for applications is November 7, 2025.

“The extension is due to some technical difficulties experienced on the recruitment portal during the initial period,” the statement explained, adding that the military regrets the inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.

The nationwide recruitment exercise, which began on October 1, 2025, is being conducted across all 16 regional capitals, forming part of a government plan to enlist about 12,000 new personnel into the Army, Navy, and Air Force over the next three years.

Applicants must first purchase an electronic recruitment voucher worth GH¢200 from designated Ghana Post offices before applying online via apply.mil.gh.

The Armed Forces has also warned the public against fake recruitment websites and social media scams, stressing that official announcements appear only in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times.

In late October, the Cyber Security Authority flagged 86 fake accounts impersonating the military and defrauding unsuspecting applicants.

Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi has reiterated that recruitment is not for sale, assuring that the process remains transparent and merit-based.

Prospective candidates now have until November 7, 2025, to complete and submit their applications through the official portal.
