Liverpool manager Arne Slot has insisted he is “completely happy” with his squad, despite recent comments that suggested concerns over depth.

The Reds were eliminated from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday after a 3-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, in a match where Slot fielded a largely youthful and inexperienced side. The lineup included three teenagers as starters and a further five on the bench, following a 10-change rotation from the team that lost 3-2 at Brentford in their fourth consecutive league defeat.

After the Palace game, Slot had hinted that his selection might reveal something about the squad’s depth, noting that clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea could rotate their teams without significantly weakening their line-ups as both progressed to the quarter-finals.

However, ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa, Slot clarified his stance, emphasizing his confidence in the players at his disposal.

“We miss nothing. I am completely happy with the team and with all the quality that we have,” he said.
