Trotro Crashes Into Akufo-Addo’s Nima Residence Wall, Injuring Three
Eyewitnesses suspect brake failure as cause of evening accident near Nima Police Station.

A commercial minibus, popularly known as a trotro, crashed into the fence wall of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s private residence in Nima on the evening of Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m., leaving three people injured and causing significant damage to the property.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle veered off the busy Nima road—close to the Nima Police Station—and slammed into the wall. The cause of the accident is yet to be officially confirmed, but some residents suspect a possible mechanical fault.
Among the injured were the vehicle’s mate and two passengers, all of whom were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle has been taken into police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations.
