K-Drama Actress Kang Seo Ha Dies at 31 After Battle With Stomach Cancer

South Korean actress Kang Seo Ha, known for her performances in popular dramas such as Heart Surgeons and Nobody Knows, has tragically passed away at the age of 31 after battling stage 4 acute stomach cancer.

The actress, born Kang Ye Won in 1994, died early Monday morning, according to local reports. Friends and fans alike have poured out heartfelt tributes online, remembering her as selfless and full of compassion—even during the final stages of her illness.

One close friend shared on Instagram: “Even when she was in pain, she thought of others first. She couldn’t eat for months but still paid for my meals with her own card. She endured everything with grace and gratitude.”

Kang Seo Ha’s death has left a void in the entertainment industry, where she was beloved for both her talent and spirit. A memorial post featuring a photo montage of her smiling in better times appeared on her Instagram on Monday, with fans worldwide posting messages of sorrow and remembrance.

A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, with her final resting place to be in Haman, South Gyeongsang Province, near her family.

Before her passing, the actress had resumed work and completed filming for her final project, a drama titled In the Net (Mangnaein), which is expected to be released posthumously.

Kang Seo Ha made her debut in 2012 in a Brave Guys music video and quickly rose to fame through her appearances in dramas like Schoolgirl Detectives, Flowers of the Prison, and Assembly.

Just a month ago, on June 13, she had quietly celebrated her 31st birthday.
